It is hard to beat a Kona vacation if you're thinking of relaxing in the sun and having fun. Kailua-Kona (most just call it 'Kona') is located on the Big Island of Hawaii and is just the destination for a lovely and rejuvenating break to help recharge the batteries. You'll also want to visit the beautiful Hapuna Beach State Park as well as the Puako Petroglyphs located on the Kohala Coast. On the opposite (eastern) side of the Big Island is Hilo, a nice little town and it boasts of being the orchid capital of Hawaii. North of Hilo is the World Botanical Gardens. Previously an area that was devoted to sugar production, this place was cultivated into the largest botanical garden in Hawaii.
